OK! I have the K8V SE Deluxe by Asus and it works cool (when it wants to). Here is a list of problems I am having:

[*] Sketchy AGP slot. My ATI all-in-wonder doesn't work at ALL! Once in a while my GeForce 3 card works.
[*] IDE drive is detected by BIOS but not windows installation... i think it's a bad drive though.
[*] SATA drive is detected by BIOS but not windows installation... even after i press F6 and insert my floppy with third party drivers.
[*] BIOS IDE detection hangs when DVD, CD, IDE drive and SATA drive are all plugged in.

Have any of you experienced any problems I have mentioned above? If so, have you found any ways around them?? HELP!!!

I had some trouble with it detecting SATA drives as well. I got it to detect my floppy by slotting in the floppy first before booting

Update your bios? I have that board and don't have any of those issues, but the first thing I did was update the bios when I got it. Maybe you should check the bios release notes and see if any of your issues are addressed.

that should be the latest. I don't trust SATA (especially onboard) and don't use it so that could be why I don't see the issues you have.

hmmm can you tell me why you don't trust SATA? I've only heard good things and everyone I know that uses it says it's cool and they have no problems... WHY ME?!?!?
