I'm willing to sacrifice a *slight* drop in performance for a STABLE system.

This is to be matched with an athlon 64 3200 and kingston hyperx memory

Man, i was just about to post the exact same thing lol.

I also want a stable board, but can't choose between the 2.

'My next mobo will probably be nForce 3, not that there is anything wrong with my VIA one right now but for a change. Either chipset should be good, but hte motherboard manufacture can mean the difference. Kind of like ECS board I started off with back in Jan/Feb. with a Sis chipset. The board had issues with the FSB not staying at 200 MHz.

If you want stability you need to consider what motherboard you buy, 9 out 10 times a sub standard board is to blame for the lack of stability and not the chipset.

I have setup dozens of Asus motherboards with Via chipsets and never had any trouble with stability. I setup one ECS board with Nvidia and it was crash city.

I usually recommend Asus or Epox to people. Epox has great tech support.

If you need to right now, look for an nForce 3 250 based mobo. Otherwise hold off until the nForce 4

i have the msi neo 2 platinum and its pretty stable... i did a lot of homework and all the socket 939 borads look fairly stable... hothardware just did a roundup and the msi won in terms of performance and value... i think anadtech did a roundup and came to the same conclusion

previous to buying this msi board, i only used gigabyte and asus... make no mistake about it, the msi board is a nice board at a nice price
