i've had a box running rock solid with (4) 512MB micron PC3200 memory modules in it. the user wants to increase the memory so i've purchased (4) 1GB micron PC3200 memory modules. i can get the system to boot with the 1GB modules in slots 1 (green) and 3 (purple) but when i add the other (2) 1GB modules into slots 2 (green) and 4 (purple) the system boots up to the 'starting windows xp' screen and then seems to lose video - the screen just goes black and the drives run for a few more seconds and then stop. if i press the power button the system will shutdown correctly and turn off as if it were running as normal.
i have a nvidia card geforce 5700 series card and the system is running ver 71.89 nividia drivers. bios is at ver 3.3 which i believe is the most current version. the motherboard itself is rev 1.0
has anyone else got this board to run with 4GB of memory?
