K8N Neo4 Platinum with Plextor 716SA

I recently had to reinstall my entire system which was working fine with K8N Neo4 and the 716SA. I know that there was an issue about having to use the Silicon Image chipset instead of the Nvidea ones. After installing all the latest drivers/etc, I can no longer read or write any DVDs! CDs are ok... I can't make any sense out of this.
