I have two Roadrunner cable connections yes two paid for separate billing different IP's address etc. So, having both hooked up will improve my internet speed or not? I have both hooked up and they both say working and connects to the internet fine etc. Just dont know if it does anything at all as far as my speed online etc?

test it:) the best big files i can think of to download are linux isos. i know linuxiso.org is free and would be good for testing, but it might be limited by their sites speed.

i'm not sure how windows xp handles multiple connections, but i think it does use both. i want to get another fiber optic gigabit card just for the insane speed, but haven't seen any cheap ones lately. these run off the pci bus so i need to figure out if that would limit it

try these speed tests and test download.

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/pub/test64"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/pub/test64">ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/pub/test64</a></a>

Above test will give you true download speed.Just download it to anywhere. No need to DL the entire thing, just cancel after a minute or so.It's a better measurement of DL speed vs. java based speed testers.

And here the quick link to all their tools.

And theres the Roadrunner specific forum.

As far as I'm aware you won't benefit from having dual connections though. The topic has been discussed and addressed multiple times on the Comcast/ATTBI/ forum at BBR

you will need some software that can take advantage of both connections at once. Otherwise it will only be using one. I think some linux firewalls will load balance the 2 connections, but it would not combine the 2 lines for any single download.

hahah he's trying to do that old "shotgun" type setup they used to have with 56k modems, except with cable modems.

That would be awesome...., but NO
