k7v nic not working

just put together my K7V & 800 athalon system, it works except the NiC. Anyone have this problem?
in device manager says , the bios isn't assigning an interupt for it????
trying to flash my 1004 beta bios what a pain. one of you experts please post yout advice on this before I cook it, thanks
P.S also I installed the 4 in 1 423 drivers and now i have a via joystick and a joystick listed
conflicts on the via one !!!!
 
Ok, I know I didn't give enough info to even make a speculation.
I'm formatting a new hard drive and without the nic at this point its fine. the K7V disc has alot of drivers on it. Do I need the miniport drivers installed? Buy the time you read this I'll either have all messed up or running Q3!!
 
stinks replying to my own post all the time, kinda like talking to myself. anyway, 91.5 fps on quake 3 with a K7V 800mhz 128meg elsa x2
32meg DDR all I need is to get the NIC installed . guess I'll post over on the networking catagory. night
