K7V having problems installing win2k

I try to install win2k, but I get hardware malfunction errors. I tried removing all peripherals, and SAME thing. I am thinking its my mothaboard, I really enjoy win 2k compared to win 98se (more free mem). I have an Asus K7V, w/ athlon 550MHz and 128Mb ram. I am lost here ppl... PLS help me out
 
Can you install 98SE without errors?

Which BIOS version are you using?
I like the 1007 final. If you are using the 1008 beta, it can cause trouble (it did for me).
