K7TPro2A and Suspend, Hibernate

Does the K7TPro2A support Hibernate? When I go to windows power management there was no 'hibernate' tab. Is this because I put in an existing hard drive that was running on a Pentium II and it did not have the tab as well? Do I have to reinstall Windows?

Secondly, when the system goes into standby, it does not wake up by mouse movement or keyboard activity. My pentium II system used to give me a message "one or more devices does not allow the system to go into standby"

Thirdly, none of the LEDs are on. Could it be that I have reversed the LED connections. The FDD green light is always on. What am I doing wrong here?

First, it's recommended to install windows after installing a new motherboard. Especially if you've gone from an Intel to a Via chipset motherboard. When you initally install Windows, it configures itself for the devices on your motherbord (i.e. PCI bridge, ISA bridge, Power management etc...). When you change the motherboard, it's no longer optimized for your system. Yes, Windows will redetect the devices on your new motherboard, but the registry entries and drivers from the old motherboard are hindering optimal performance.

Second, the MSI K7T Pro 2A does support "Standby Mode".

Third, the lights are improperly connected. LED's have a + and - side; try reversing the plugs. Double check the book.

Finally, your floppy drive cable is connected backwards. The red stripe points towards the power connector (unless you have a mitsumi floppy drive).

Just finished building my new system, and I can't get my system to get out of standby/hibernate mode... what's going on?

I am yet to solve this problem. The system never comes out of standby. Could anyone help me please?

I was having a problem except mine was trying to come out of suspend only to give me a VERY dark screen with thin red lines appearing rarely. A reboot would be the only solution. I upgraded my video drivers twice, and the problem was still there. I have upgraded to the 1.9 bios and all things seem to be alright now. I think there is even another more recent version, but I didn't see it. Since my bios update, my computer does seem a notch slower, but it is still about the same speed as my P3 933. That's not bad for a Duron 900.
