Alright here's the computer that's giving me so much grief i feel like a newbie;

MSI k7t266pro2a (ms-6380e v1.0)

The onboard audio is detected by winxp, but it won't play properly. It gives the odd beep, but that's it. This is my second of these MOBO's the other worked perfect (it was a ver 2.0 though). Any idea's what's up?
This hard drive and windows installation has been used prior to this on my old k7t266pro2a, which was actually a newer model, could that be a potential problem? If so maybe i'll just backup everything and try reinstalling windows.

Help me out here guys

ok, if anyone is reading this, here's what i've tried;

I've checked behind the mobo to see if there are any extra standoffs there; none
I've reinstalled windows and used the driver CD that came w/ the MOBO
used the newest Drivers as found on MSI's website
the sound card will seemingly make random noises during playback of an audio file.

Also, the USB doesn't work.

Both the USB and the Onblard AC'97 sound are detected by windows as working normal.
anyone have any suggestions? Help me out here.
