Just started building my new pc today. I have,
Antec w/ 300W
K7T Turbo (no RAID)
....Award Modular BIOS v6.00 PG
....W6330MS v2.2 011101
....Award PNP v1.0A
Maxtor 30GB
WD 3.1GB

BIOS won't recognize any hard drive.
It did at first, then during a reboot, it just stopped. I checked the hdd jumper settings. I think they're right, but the Maxtor is a bit harder to figure out. I changed the cables and had to put the hdds back into my P133 so I could post this.

First of all, you need to give a little more info before we can diagnose your problem here.

1 - Are you overclocking?
2 - Have you gone to http://www.maxtor.com and checked the jumper settings?
3 - Have you listened to make sure that the hard drive is spinning up?
4 - Is the power connected to the HDD firmly / at all? (I've done this *smacks self*)
5 - Is the IDE cable seated properly?

Once you've ruled all of these out, I would say exchange the HDD for a new one. Maxtors tend to die from time to time... (a lot)

Reset the jumper pin on CMOS to load default, goe into bios and set the HD to Auto and Auto
Set your clock speed for your processor and try to boot.
I found that resetting the bios sometimes helps.
Make sure you have the blue end in the motherboard and the black end on your master drive, the grey is for slave. if your using an ata 100 drive
Try the Maxtor first and see if it boots.
My old western digital would not recognise it when I used the Western digital format utility.

I set the entire bios to safe defaults and it recognized the hd.
Thanks.
