This is something I've never encountered. I was running my Turbo at 100 FSB and my 900@900 and all seemed stable and fast when last night I got a blue screen during a reboot. I didn't write down the complaint so I rebooted. Just when that damn Win98 startup music starts to play I got another blue screen. I couldn't start the OS so I decided to reinstall the OS without reformatting. Upon "starting Win98 for the first time" I was a couple seconds into that intro wave file when another blue screen. This time I jotted it down:
Invalid VxD dynamic link call from VSDATA95(01) + 0000E1C8 to device "0028", service 800A.
Ok, now I reformat C: drive and install Win98. Again at the same time I got a blue screen:
Fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:263C74C1
What is this about? Well, to be entirely candid, this morning I finally boxed it up and sent it back to the vendor. Later today I ordered an IWill KK266 to replace it. I just hope the IWill will be a less challenging experience.
Note: the bios used was the file ?.10g
