I need your help everyone. I can not get my BIOS to flash using LIVEBIOS or Manually with AWFL789. Using a DOS disk I can save a copy of my BIOS and start the process, but I don't get any status on the update "bar" it just hangs there. I cold boot out and have not lost anything (BIOS). Is there a jumper that needs removed? I have not seen any CMOS settings to enable etc... I am tired of my 1 GHZ and ready for a 1800XP!!! Any Ideas?

Thanks:confused:

Did you follow the procedures on this page? Also, I think you have to put in the BIOS file name (bin) in your command line, not just the Awflash.

Just one, long shot but try disabling virus protection in bios then try flashing.

Seeing as how I have done this many times with my Turbo board I would suggest you do the following.

1. double check that the BIOS flashable is enabled. otherwise nothing will happen.

2. Which OS are you using? This is important. Boot from a win98 or XP dos boot disk.

3. Make sure that the disk has enough room for the flash utility and the old and new BIOS as well.

4. at the dos prompt type: awfl789.exe w6330vms.350

5. follow directions.

Virus Protection is disabled.
What is this: "double check that the BIOS flashable is enabled. otherwise nothing will happen"

What or where is this? I used a XP Boot disk and have typed it as you wrote. The program executes but nothing is wrote to the BIOS.

Thanks for the help! And keep it coming!

I can't flash my Turbo LE either. It was a warranty replacement for a turbo rais that smoked. It has bios 3.3 on it. whenever i try to flash a newer version I backup the current bios successfully but when it trys to write the new the progress bar indicates write failures in all sectors so i end up flashing it back to the 3.3 bios backup i made. It does that with no issues at all. Msi apparently doesn't care since they haven't found the time to answer any of my emails concerning the problem.

That is a setting in the BIOS.
I forgot to add that this depends on the motherboard. Sorry.

Just another thought here. You might just have a defective BIOS chip (actually that is probably what it is). You can get a new one at badflash.com for under $25. Just a thought. Mind you, there is no guarantee of 100% that this is the troublesome device and this would solve your problem, but it is a good bet. Anyway, if cash is tight and you want an alternative, there it is. Good Luck. BTW the Turbo 2 board is terrific!
