I'm looking to build a new Athlon computer system and I want to know which motherboard I should use. I'm not looking to overclock my computer so I just want the most stable system possible. Thanks in advance.

Oh... one more thing. Has anyone had any problems with either of these motherboards and the following components:

ATI Radeon 64
IBM 75GXP hard drive
Soundblaster Live Value
Aopen 16x DVD
PC Power and Cooling Silencer 275 PS
Crucial 256MB PC133 Cas 2 RAM

Thanks again.

Your parts look fine to me,btw what CPU are you getting?the reason I ask is the MSI K7T Pro is a very, very stable board also cheaper then the MSI K7T Pro2,if you dont need ATA-100 support or overclocking & your processor is 1Ghz or lower then this board would be idea for you, either board you mentioned would be a great choice,I would personally go with the MSI,but the Asus is still a great board.

🙂

Thanks for the input. The processor I'm getting is a Thunderbird 1Ghz. I'm not entirely sure, but I think you are referring to the K7T Pro2A board when you are talking about ATA-100. From what I've read, the K7T Pro2 does not have ATA-100 support which doesn't bother me too much. I'm afraid of getting the K7T Pro2A after reading about all the problems on the forum.

You are correct about the MSI K7T PRO2 not having ATA-100,but don`t forget the original MSI K7T PRO board(which I use) is rock stable,& very easy to set up,definently worth considering if you don`t want overclocking features like the PRO2 has.

🙂
