K7T Pro2-A multiplier problem...

I installed this motherboard today with a thunderbird 750 and the lowest selectable multiplier is 10X-12.5X

How the hell do I get 5.5-9.5? I tried flashing the latest beta bios but it didn't change. I double checked my L1 pencil marks...they look good to me. Let me know if you can help. Thanks.

well if it will only go to 10 - 12...why complain? if itll go that high then so be it! it has some multiplier problems sometimes that just arent fixable. i have a pro2-a also, and ill trade you boards because i cant get mine over 9.5!

oh, well i guess thats a good reason to complain then! does it not even work on default? if not...time to return that POS!

oh i figured you had already done that..didnt know you didnt know to do it =( sorry i didnt tell you earlier

but im glad you got it fixed

Trying doing a search, it might help. I've seen this problem brought up before! Also just because you checked your pencil marks doesnt mean anything try taking the marks off and see if you can bootup at the default speeds. I would use the defogger kit to connect the jumpers. Its more reliable. I have a Duron 600@ 1020MHZ using the defogger kit and Im using the same board as you.

Good Luck!

Another vote for the defogger kit method, with a magnifying glass and toothpick it works well.

Athlonrig, I had a similar problem yesterday. If the lowest selectable setting is 10x then your BIOS now thinks your default is 9.5. Set the Multiplier to default, save settings and reboot. Your CPU should default to 750hz. Shut down and restart, go into BIOS and the multipliers from 7.5 on up should be available. Be aware that on this mobo you cannot select a ratio lower than the default for your CPU (ie a 750Mhz processor will yield a default multiplier of 7.5).

when you want to flash bios, try not to use the overclocked speed to flask bios

the multiplier below the multiplier that you set will be missing after you have flashed your bios

like you are using 10*1000 when you flashed your bios

the multiplier below 10 will be missing...

that is what i have tried before
