K7T PRO2-A bios questions....v2.01B

I flashed my board with that bios from the german site....the bottom of the screen when you turn the computer on says ...686A...shouldn't it say 686B?? I forgot which thread it was that talked about this earlier. Does this have any impact on the performance of the southbridge chip?? Will my hdd still run at ata100?? I am using win2k by the way and have installed the VIA IDE tool program that lets you switch between modes.

Don't worry about the 686A on the bottom of the screen. It doesn't affect performance at all and seems to be a programming error. The Southbridge will still run at ATA-100 if you enable that. Using W2K, make sure in install the right IDE drivers or you won't be able to hit ATA-100. See the FAQ at my website for details and the URL for the drivers. Use the VIA tool to make sure you have enabled ATA-100.

BTW that's a beta bios and there is a newer one available. version. 2.1. you can get it from the english sites.

The b1014 "Overclocker's BIOS" gives the best performance of any of the MSI Pro2-A BIOS i have tried(and i have tried 'em all)
