I wanna have at least pc2700 (maybe even 3200) for when I upgrade to a new board, but I'm unsure if the board will even work with it.

Also....think I'll see a big difference from pc133 to 2700?

PC2700 will work fine at PC2100 speeds.

It is a good upgrade for future use.

There is definitely a difference between DDR and SDR.

Cool thanks.

BTW: I'm already running that bios. As soon as I saw that I couldnt o/c with the standard bios I trashed it.

well u can OC but not through FSB adjustments. Interesting! Most new ECS boards contain FSB adjustments so I guess they are listening to consumers.

What about 3200? Will it work?
That is supposedly DDR 400. There is no standard yet. Buying it doesn't guarrantee an upgrade path. Your best bet is still PC2700.

You could wait until a standard comes out, but that could take months.

PC2700 at PC2100 speeds ensures a good CAS2 latency and good stability... for what, $5 more?
worth every cent.

It should work just fine with PC2700 memory -- if you buy PC2700 memory, make sure it is 'solid' (ie brand name).

Buying PC3300 memory at the moment is most likely a waste of money, prices are likely to drop and standards should be more firmly in place before you go with PC3300.

As it is, you are paying more for the PC2700 memory than the motherboard itself:)

Since PC2700 'pays off' with something like an XP2200 or XP2400, I'd look getting a motherboard likely to support that sort of CPU of course (333/400).
