k7s5a weird lock-up ?

I have put together a K7S5A system ( 1000 Duron / with 256 Crucial/ TNT2/ 80 gig Maxtor HD, 40 Delta 300 watt AMD approved PS )withthe latest Cheapoman modified BIOS from OC Workbench not overclocked. The system works fine except it won't run my sons MS Age of Empires or Age of Empires II - The programs install but when I click play I get a black screen with lockup with both progarms. I have not had this problem with other Bus applications and games I've installed on this machine. Any ideas ? - Thanks

if running XP, did you download the updates??
found them to fix some probs sometimes,

other then that , am stumped!
 
I would investigate daveqb ideas if applicable. Also, if using XP have you tried compatability mode? It could be a driver conflict, which detonators are you using? Which SiS AGP driver version? All things to consider since game issues like you're experiencing can be tough to pin down.
