K7S5A v1 Compatibility with Duron (Morgan core)

I have a ECS K7S5A PCB ver1.X is it compatible with the Durons that use a Morgan core? I would like to run a 1300 on this board. My alternative would be to use a Athlon Tunderbird 1.4 but the stepping codes are good and I would rather use it on a MB I could overclock,

What do you think?

Thanks

Yes indeed, I've got one of the original version K7S5A's running a Duron 1GHz here. It'll OC to 1.33 by simply bumping to 133/133 for CPU/RAM in the BIOS, too! :D No crazy cooling required on mine to accomplish that, just a fairly large generic Coolermaster heatsink/fan unit.

If you feel like taking a gamble on the 1GHz > 1.33GHz overclock, I can tell you this: it makes a difference. Last night I was running the UT2003 Demo, playing a deathmatch with 31 bots :)D) and the difference between the system at 1GHz and 1.33GHz is big. Much smoother at the higher speed. For that reason, you might want to just get an AthlonXP 1600+ instead, and have the benefit of the faster bus and more cache too.

Another thing you could do is get a 1Ghz Duron, if it runs at 133mhz then do it, if it will not do it, then Cut of the bridges and connect another and lower the chip to a 9 (from a 10) and it should do 133Mhz
