k7s5a startup problems

My computer specs are at the bottom

My computer has been running just fine until this morning. I went to start it up and i got that blue screen saying, "if this is your first time seeing this....." so I restarted and got the blue screen again. I read the message and was planning on following the directions (push f8 on startup to boot in safe mode). When I restarted a third time it wouldn't boot windows. It would get to the part about "finding boot disk on hard disk...ok" and wouldn't go any further. I noticed the red hard drive light would come on a stay on as well.

The only trouble I have been having was it randomly starting about once every other day for no aparant reason. I have a feeling it is because of my 300W power supply. Any suggestions?

edit: One more thing, I also noticed that my speakers pop when I turn on the computer now. Does that mean anything?

Ok, check this out. I plugged in a spare hard drive that happened to have windows 98 on it and it booted. When booted, though, it said it did not detect a mouse and when i tried to hit enter, the keyboard was not detected either. Now, I know the keyboard works, because I can get into the bios on startup so apparently it loses the mouse and keyboard when it boots windows. Something isnt' right....
