After installing this board with an amd 1133mhz,256mb crucial,wd hd voodoo 3 3000, i kept getting two problems. First after post and ram check computer would hang for apporx 30 sec at the press del to enter bios set up before detecting ide drives. then after that lengthy process i would get unknown device found and a driver installation screen. I reformatted again and did a clean install of win 98 and ran the auto install program for the board drivers.(LAN, audio, vga,etc..) Turns out the audio drivers for the on board audio were not able to install..(severe error according to windows) and the install process stopped right there. Has anyone else encountered a problem such as this and if so how did you fix/get around it. I have read other threads that said they had problems with the LAN drivers but I had no problem with those. I actually was able to use the ac97 audio codec drivers to get the onboard sound working and test the lan which worked fine. Yet the ac97 drivers were not the right ones so I need help from the pool of knowledge out there.

P.S. You guys are making my wife think I know a sh1tload more about pc'c than I actually do. THANKS ;)

I found in the official k7s5a thread that the supplied audio drivers do not work with win 98. I am wondering if you got the same unknown device found message on every start up.

P.S. Is there a way to change the number of seconds the system waits for you to "hit del to enter setup" on startup??
