K7S5A problem (sorted, ta)

Okay, after plonking in a new network card the ECS MoBo decided to start playing silly buggers with the second IDE connector. First it decided it just wasn't there, no DVD or ZIP drives! Ouch. So, I just tried swapping the cables from IDE 1 to IDE 2, which seemed to work at first, but then I rebooted only to have the less than encouraging report that no Hard drives were present. So every time I switch the cables round all the drives are detected, but after one reboot everything on the second IDE vanishes. Sys specs are below

Duron 750
ECS K7S5A
256 PC133 (it was just going spare okay...)
generic Geforce 2mx
netgear FA311 network card
plus all the boring extras like HDD, DVD, FDD, ZIP etc...

I'm gonna try a 350watt PSU in place of the generic 300watt thing which is already in there and I might try to reinstall everything with the DVD and HDD on the same IDE bus.

However, any feedback and suggestions would be much appreciated.

take out netowrk card and see what happens. If all is good then I would try another network card brand.

😱 Er, yeah. That kinda worked 100%

Thanks lots and lots and lots. I feel a teeny bit stupid now, but everything seems peachy again; I just wasn't thinking straight 'cos I've already used an identical card in my primary pooter and its been fine. Oh well, thanks again.
