Alright, my LAN has been messed up ever since I reinstalled Windows. When I first reinstalled it, I went to ECS' website and got onboard LAN drivers. However, it only offered SiS 900 LAN drivers for my board. However, I thought I remembered Realtek being the manufacturer of the LAN chip on this board. So, I looked on the board and found a Realtek chip. It's labeled Realtek RTK8201L. The 8201L is on Realtek's website as a LAN chip. So, I OBVIOUSLY have Realtek's onboard LAN.

So, I downloaded the drivers from both Realtek and ECS' website and tried to install them. Both times, Win 2k decided that it found something better and tried to install SiS' 900 drivers. I can't get it to install Realtek's drivers. WTF? Can anyone help me?

Oh, and to be more specific, my LAN will work for an hour or two with the SiS drivers installed and then it'll act like there's no connection. However, since me and my roommate are on the same connection, I'm quite sure it's there.

The Realtek chip you found is probably just acting as the physical CODEC that hooks up the SiS 735's built-in SiS900 LAN to the physical jack you plug your cable into. Same thing with nForce2 sound... the processing is all done by the southbridge, but a Realtek CODEC is used to translate the digital output to analog and hook it up to the jacks. Use the SiS900 drivers.

As for the networking problem, try setting up a little batch file with

ipconfig /renew
pause

and see if running that helps. Somehow I doubt the hardware has much to do with it.
