The title says it all. If anyone knows of another flash utility program that might work for the k7s5a and windows 2000, please post it. The standard program from ecs doesn't work, even with a win98 bootdisk. Winflash also doesn't work with this board. Thank you.

Yes it does. Instructions for an AMI BIOS.

The operating system does not matter when flashing the BIOS. The only thing you need is a boot disk from win98 and you should be good to go. Make sure you read the instructions if you are having problems becuase if you mess up you may not be able to fix it.

The standard program from ECS does work just fine, even from Windows 98's DOS. Done that a zillion times.

I'm running windows 2000 professional. Using a win98 bootdisk, and the aminf332 flash file, I get the message "file not found" on the third line. I don't have any high density floppys, or I would create a true win 2k bootdisk. Ecs warns that this file doesn't work under win2k/me. Any suggestions?

Boot to DOS from a boot disk, and run

aminf332 biosfile.bin

If you don't put in the name of the .bin file to flash, it won't work 🙂

I appreciate all your replies. I flashed the cheepoman bios by loading the amifl827 program off msi's website. The ecs flash utility never worked, even when trying the last suggestion.
