I am setting up a system with the K7S5A and a Duron 1G. It just so happened that my cousin was building a computer and I had a chance to install this CPU and Mobo with a video card and memory I had laying around into his case with an Antec 300W PS. It posted just fine.
I took this combo out of his computer and today went out and bought a Antec KS282 from Best Buy which also comes with the 300W Antec. I installed the same mobo, CPU, video card, and memory but now not only does it not post but there is smoke coming out near the memory slot.
Does anyone have any ideas of what is going on? I am going to get my cousin's power supply from him tomorrow but was hoping that someone maybe able to suggest some issues not related to the PS.
