K7S5A can't flash bios

RU482

Lifer
OK, there must be an easy solution to this that I'm overlooking.

I created a DOS disk and am able to boot to it. I've got the latest AMI utility (AMINF329.exe) and the latest .rom file (011215L.rom) on the floppy. When I try to run the AMI utility, it chugs away for a little bit and then says file cannot be found.

from the A: prompt, I'm typing in AMINF329 to run the utility

Another strange thing that is different from the manual, There isn't an option in the bios to enable/disable "trend chipaway virus". Is this because I haven't set up a password?

Also, my clear cmos jumper is in the default position (2-3)

Any ideas?

What OS are you using? I know that there was a floppy drive issue with the K7S5A and Win2k. Maybe, this is what you are experiencing...if you have created the floppy from Win2k, try creating another one with the AMI utility and .rom file on a different machine.

If you're not using Win2k, then try booting up again with your floppy or go into safe mode with command prompt only and run the AMI utility directly from the hard drive. I usually update my BIOS this way...also you can use the following command line:

aminf329.exe 011215L.ROM /A
