hi,
if you have reseated the components and reset the cmos and nothing is happening, try checking out the forums at ocworkbench
http://forum.ocworkbench.com/ocwbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=35
they have the most info on the k7s5a of anywhere that i've been.

fwiw, i found the k7s5a to be a very poor quality and buggy board and ended up returning the ones that i tried (and my friends too)
but that's just my experience, some people love that board.

Purchased a K7S5A Pro mobo from newEgg back in March or April. RMA'd it for almost the same issue, although I got a slight fan spin for a fraction of a second, then nothing at all. That board fried my video card and the new 1800+ CPU I bought, too. Ordered a replacement board, and the 2nd had a faulty IDE controller. It could not read my hard drive correctly and instead, scrambled all the characters. RMA'd it, too.

3rd board? Shutlle AK32A mobo. Works great.

Your best bet is to stop throwing your working parts around the room and instead buy a better board. I wouldn't take one of these if someone gave it to me, now. Too many headaches and it cost me money in replacing my vid card.

I had the SAME exact problem as altonb1 with that board. Burn out my 1800+ and my video card, took it right back to fry's and they didnt even let me finish explaining what was wrong, gave me a full return. Went and bought an MSI board for about the same cost and have had NO problems whatsoever. Stop wasting your time with that bro, get something better.

try unplugging the power from the mobo.

Let stand for a few mins and plug it back in. Then
try to power up and see what it does.

What powersupply are you running this thing on. This board tends to be very picky about PSU's.

I had a simular problem with ASUS A7V 333 mobo and fried TWO cpu's, before finding out faulty capacitors. Check out this link below, there are pictures of bad boards and leaky/bad capacitors that are in use on many MoBo?s. It is hard to tell which are bad, but if you look closely, the tops are kinda buble out, ready to "hach". Since then I have build two systems with K7S5A Pro mobo and after inspecting them very closely they are running just fine. It may be old news, but there are plenty of mobo's with them in circulation. How many have been used in airplanes or car electronics and other boards?? Hacker community beware, Big brother will blame you for this one.
