K7S5A and PC100/133 SDRAM

I have a Duron 850, a Ge Force 2 GTS/PRO and some PC133 SDRAM laying around. Anyone have any experience using a Duron on the K7S5A board with PC133? The board is inexpensive and I have (knock on wood) had good luck with it thus far. Im considering getting one to make a second "guest" machine.

Thanks

No problem doing that. Pop the Duron in, set CPU/RAM clocks to 100/133, and there you go. Running a RAM test like the one from www.memtest86.com is recommended - you'd be surprised how many slightly flaky DIMMs work fine in old systems but don't when an Athlon or P4 gets down on it.

I have installed both Spitfire and Morgan based CPU's in this board, without any probs, like Peter says you need to set the frequency as it does default to 100/100. It is an excellent board, performence similar to KT266 while the cost is well.....it's the cheapest full ATX socket A board I have found new.

I use a duron 750 with this motherboard and 512mb of crucial and it's runs extremely well as my server. This thing will stay up forever running windows 2k.

I recently built a system with a Duron 950, 128 megs of pc133 ram, TNT2 M64 and the K7S5A and everything worked perfectly.
