K7S5A and floppy problem (not win2k). HELP!!

This is my 2nd system based on the K7S5A. 1st one was flawless with a chepie Codogen case and 300 PSU. This one is going into an SX830, 1600xp,
Had the case, mobo, 256 ddr ram and the cd drive ready to go during the week (and vid card) so I boot to see if it posts. Sure no problem and I set the bios to the way I wanted for most part.
Today I install a zip, HD and a floppy. Problem is with the floppy. Bios recognizes it, but wont boot from it or even run it (light doesnt even light up) when the cable is hooked up properly. When the cable is reversed, it does the usual always on green light, but when proper, it doesnt do anything? I got it from Neweeg so RMA wont be too bad. ANy ideas before I have to RMA it?

Could be a bad floppy cable?

Do you have the drive plugged into the "B:" drive connector (middle one) instead of the "A:" connector (end one)?

Possibly a bad drive as well. Checking with a known good drive will eliminate this possibility. If your other drive works, try using the floppy cable from your other computer to see what happens.
