Hey all, just got the board, installed it... put in the cards...

Now when i boot up i get a repeated beep for about 2-3 seconds... nothing on the monitor, yet the fans spin up...

im wondering if it has anything to do with the AGP card... at the end of the slot i cant get the plastic piece standing straight up...

im stuck guys...lil help

😛

it isnt..but the thing is... i CAN't get it in...

if infact it is properly seated...will the plastic piece on the end be straight Up?!?!?

edit..grammar..

Agreed, not properly seated. Seems the agp on those K7S5A's are extra tight. For me, I had to throw a few spacers under mobo to get it to align properly w/ the pci/agp slot outputs on the case. My mobo didn't have the black agp holder though...

geeez.. i think i may have to pull it out of the case so i can use some serious force...

no matter what i can't get it seated..

Is there an added key in the slot? Maybe your card doesn't support 1.5volts and doesn't have the additional key that would let it go down. You might check. (But I just seen the Geforce 3 in your sig.)

Otherwise you might try to loosen your mobo screws, scoot it back, reseat the card then tighten them back up as far forward as they will go.

the back end of my agp slot broke off on my ecs k7s5a board. the vid card runs fine. it's just the plastic part of it broke off, but it's still annoying.
