My ECS board wouldn't boot w/kyroII video card at first, tried pci banshee card and got system to boot. finished new system setup and win '98se install(Dec.26). later tried banshee agp card, it worked; tried kyroII it worked! Installed same and been happy till yesterday. Re-started system after power-out and... no-boot. Banshee agp no-boot.Saw mention of board problems related to power supply, mine is rated for P4.:frown:

Check in the bios to see if there is an option to boot AGP or PCI video. You want to boot from AGP obviously.

Starts beeping??? What are beeps like??? Those are potential codes to tell you possible problem....

I think with all the swapping out the agp card may not be fully pushed in...It may have worked its way out enough to just be the issue?

I have a very similar problem with my k7s5a... It worked for a few weeks with an Elsa Geforce 256 AGP card. One day the display started "flickering" during boot, but once Windows graphics mode came up, everything was fine, so I didn't think anything of it. Then a few days later, the system wouldn't post.

If I swap in a PCI video card, the system boots just fine. I've tried 2 different AGP cards that were borrowed from working systems, and the ECS board just won't post with them. The drives spin up, then NOTHING. I don't get any beeps at all, and there's nothing on the display.

I wonder if there are just problems with AGP current supply on this board? I had a poorly designed board a while back (FIC PA-2013) that had all sorts of problems with its AGP design.

I'm running a revision 2 board, what about you?

Banshees won't work with it. It has to do with the fact that the Banshee AGP isn't using agp but pci.
