I have a K7m and was wondering if pc 133 works on this board , I have only read that pc 100 works but have seen some places claiming that pc 133 is being used I want to try and shed some light on this issue. Any info is greatly appreciated !

well its possible that 3dmark is mistaken...lol...but what determines your sysytem clock ....is there a jumper to set it to either 66 or 100...might want to check into that a bit

Thats part of the problem I am not sure what the settings should be in the bios as I have not really tweaked or changed the bios in this system .what should I look for ?

well, i'm not at all familiar with your mobo. but usually the bios will display a "multiplier" (which you cannot change) and a memory speed. memory speed x multiplier is basically your processor speed. i would assume for a 700 you should have a multiplier of 7 and memory speed of 100. should be one of the first options in the bios. just go check it out, you can say "exit w/out saving changes" and you won't do any harm in just looking

The mb manual also says it supports pc 133 which I have in a different pc but if I put the pc 133 on this mb or any mb for that matter is there anything that needs to be set ? voltage or anything like that ? Are there any good rules of thumb to keep in mind when dealing with ram ?

yes, like all computer hardware, be careful with static electricity. always touch the unpainted part of your case before touching your parts.

other than that, you can put pc133 ram in w/out changing anything. as was said earlier in this thread, it will simply run at the lower speed that is set (in this case , 100)
