I am just about to get a refund for the ECS K7AMA and just go with a gigabyte for a system I am building for someone. Unless anyone knows anything about the following beep code, I am just going to go ahead with the refund.
Beep, Pause, 2 Beeps, Pause, 6 Beeps, Pause, 2 Beeps.
I cannot get the board to use a visiontek mx440 GF4 card. I also tried using another AGP card, but it still will not work. I think that 8 beeps straight means it is a video problem, and I think that Beep, Pause, 2 Beeps, Pause, Beep means that there is a memory error (please correct me if i am wrong). I have tried setting the Primary VGA to AGP in the BIOS, and I have messed around with almost all the settings. I have cleared the CMOS and tried to see if it work that way. I am going to double check the mx440 today in another computer to make sure that it is working properly, but the motherboard has not worked with either of the cards I tested. I have disconnected everything and reconnected it all; there might have been something loose, and reconnecting everything worked for someone else (however, they had the Beep, Pause, 2Beep, Pause, Beep). The memory is firmly in place. Works with a PCI card.
I will post back later today, hopefully, regarding the testing of the mx440 in another system.
Thanks for any help.
