K7 Pro/AGP issues, and some other things...

OK, two questions -

1) I know I have a Clock Generation -110, stepping 6 K7 Pro. Is Super Bypass on by default; if not, how do I turn it on??

2) What is the workaround for the AGP 1x/Geforce conflict? I've installed the latest AGP drivers from AMD, I just haven't flashed the BIOS yet. Will that work? Tell me how to get around this, please...my games are suffering!! I knew that this conflict was an issue early on but I could have sworn that it was long since solved.

Also, what other optimizations do you think I should do?

In addition, are DMA for the hard drives and CD-ROMs on by default? I'm using the latest bus master drivers and I cannot select DMA in the device manager. Are they on by default??

Super Bypass is not enabled by default, you have to enable it in BIOS. Download CHIPID http://www.slota.com/files/ to verify it.
It will also tell you if you have a stepping 6 chipset for sure. Just because it has a -110 clock generator does not guarantee it is a stepping 6. If the SuperBypass option is greyed out and cannot be enabled, you either have to adjust your memory timing settings or you may not have a stepping 6.

As far as the DMA box being gone, if you install the AMD busmaster drivers instead of using the ones that Windows installs, you lose that feature. I have found that performance is much better sticking with those and checking the DMA box.

OK it is stepping 6 but it is disabled. Where is the BIOS is Super Bypass so I can enable it? I looked briefly and didnt' see it...

What about the whole AGP 1x/2x thing? How do I fix that? And you recommend that I rip out the AMD busmasters and install Winodws IDE drivers with DMA? Anyone else second this?

Any other tweaks? I'm obviously an Athlon newbie.

OK -

I read the documentation for that program at SlotA.com and I now know that I can turn it on with the program using a switch. Is there any way to enable it in the BIOS though? I'm going to Flash tonight...maybe that will bring some answers...
