K6-III - which set up is best?

Both solid and stable, but which is best in your opinion?

1) k6-III 400 (100*4) ;but pc100 memory needs cas 3.

2) o/c K6-III 428 (95*4.5) ;memory can now use cas 2 due to lower fsb.

These are the only two stable configurations for my system.

As being a person who doesn't OC, I would say that setup #1 would be the best for you, since the CL timings aren't as important as FSB is. Benchmark each config out with Sandra or whatever else and see what gives the best performance/stability ratio for you. Good luck to ya mate.

I'd go with the o/c'd K6-III 428 (95*4.5). The lower ram timings and higher internal clock speed will make up for the 5mhz drop in FSB speed. If you can, benchmark the ram bandwidth with sandra, i'll bet the throughput will be about the same on each setup in which case the higher clock speed will put setup 2 over the top.
