I found an old SS7 motherboard that takes K6-2 up to 366MHz w/o oc-ing.

I found these k6-3s 366 on that famous auction site e-bake.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure these were not release here and do you think my mb can take this ? it takes k6-2s ? Thanks

1. Bios update can help to detect the K6-III.
2. Programs allows to enable some internal features that the old bios doesn't.
3. With 2x=6x remapping, this board can clock @ 6x66 = 400 (the 366 K6-III can run @ 400-450).

It's weird, they posted that it uses 366/95 = 3.8 multiplier, I'm like what kind of multiplier is that.. a 3.8....

Not sure about that. I think this 366 K6-III is an undercloked K6-400 that can't run stable at 4x100 at default voltage. They are used with laptops and a 66FSB at 366Mhz and can be clocked up to 95x4 = 380 Mhz at default voltage. -> 366/95
But you can easily overclock them to 4x100 or more by adding voltage in the 0.2v/0.3v range. Good cooling can help.

The problem is the board. If it can take CPU up to 366, it means it has a 66FSB (x5.5) and it's not a SS7 with 100FSB. So, the K6 2x multiplier remapping will allow a chip to run with 6x66 = 400 max.

Yeah, actually I won an k6-3/333 instead of 366... so it's 66x5... gonna see if 75 or 83x5 would be stable...

It can work. Maybe you'll need to put a bit more voltage (+0.2v/+0.3v).
Don't forget cooling that helps to get stable for long run at full load.
75x6=450 (x2 on the board) or 83*5.5 would be a nice result. But you'll need huge cooling.

Dang, you're running 2.7... the mb I got only does 2.1/2.2/2.3. I have one of my globalwin that I saved from my dual celerons that i'm gonna use for this.

Yes, stock voltage for the AHX 450 is 2.4v. So, it's only a +0.3v increase. 2.8v is the safe limit for my chip. For your chip, I would say 2.5v and nothing more.

Strange, that does not allow a lot of CPU's. Maybe some undocumented settings. This happens for mobos that have nothing documented between 2.4 and 2.8v but have undocumented settings for 2.5/2.6/2.7v
You'll probably need this voltage (2.4v/2.5v) to reach the max.
