I have a Matsonic MS6260S MB that I want to upgrade to a K6-3 450 for a friend of mine, and possibly O/C to 500. The regular old K6-3 450 is pretty hard to find, but I have seen the K6-3+ (note the plus) 450 on eBay. I would like to use one of these due to the lower voltage (less heat) and better chance of overclocking to 500, but I don't know how the MB will handle it. I think it will support the 2.0 voltage, but don't know how the BIOS will react to this CPU, as it was originally designed as a mobile proc. Apparently it does work in a lot of the more recent SS7 MB's, just don't know if mine is one of them. I have read that people have had trouble with this MB and the K6-2 550, but that seemed to be more of a problem with the MHz. I'd be perfectly happy with 500 from a K6-3 (nice round number - half a gig). Would like to hear from anyone with experience with this MB or any of its PC Chips brethren and the K6-3 or K6-3+, or possibly even the K6-2+, at 450-500 MHz. And if you know where I can get one that will work with my MB at a decent price, that would be even better - the ones on eBay keep getting bid up ridiculously high for an aging proc. line.
