It will become interesting when, or should I say if, they ever get some real silicon out into the real world, IMO. If they can't/don't have it available for sale, and refuse to give any performance previews, why should I even care?

I second myocardia... I'm yawning with anticipation.

I have a queasy (for AMD) feeling that I will be able to purchase a 45nm Penryn quad from Newegg long before I will be able to purchase 65nm Phenom X4 from Newegg for my next desktop system. (at any price)

Maybe if both the "quad-father" (remember the hype?) and the R600 didn't blow chunks I would be a little more enthused.

Yeah, AMD is so far behind and unfortunately it looks like they will take ATI down with them.

Yeah, I really had high hopes for this stuff but it seems like Intel and Nvidia just know how to manufacture stuff more reliably and on time. I was holding out for the R600, but after that flop now I'll upgrade to a G92 and by that time Penryn should be out.

I donno, the new drivers for the R600 have been producing promising results.
