Since when did K&N buy ad space on Anandtech? I just saw some a few minutes ago.

I know no details. K&N makes air filters for comps but if used, mpg will drop 30% 😛 KRIPES!! Getta grip.

It's a little thick, but I've used thier pre-cleaner foam for comp filters #25-3900 iirc.

Debatable.

What about the eye candy factor when looking under the hood at a shiny new cone filter?

You might even be able to attract some sexy ladies like in Fast and the Furious. 😛

I wasn't looking for a Cold Air Intake. Nobody makes one for my car. Its a 2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE. I just wanted to see if I can get a lil more power out of it. I put some Bosch Platinums 2 and they work pretty good. Maybe I see a increase because I had some old plugs in there before.

Personally I like that it frees up a lot of space so I can work under the hood without feeling as cramped.

In the applications I listed above with 30+years of use. I say yes 😛 So there!

The vast majority of the posters in this thread have never overhauled a gas or diesel engine.
Stick to what you know and pay a good mechanic to tend your automotive needs 😉
They will cheat you as well as you do folks that need comp repair/mantainence 😛

Carbs with big trumpets FTW. Or if you have Electronic Fuel Injection installed, throttle bodies + Large injectors with big trumpets FTW. With HKS filters NICE 😀

Plus whilst we're at it a new straight through DE-CAT exhaust with a HKS backbox, custom cold air intake (subaru scoop 😀), and of course some NOS so you can go light speed, plus a chipped ECU. We?re talking babe magnet here. 😛

No aesthetics needed, purely mechanical here.

Take some pride in you car!

All that for a grand am?

depends on the car and the user - with some bmws - ppl have reported issues with MAF sensor - most problems with K&N arise when ppl refill/ recharge/ reclean them incorrectly ... i have K&N on both of my bmws - and i will just buy new instead of reusing them - to me there was little more throaty sound gain and maybe minute performance gain (seemed bit more responsive) ... but dont expect miracles ... for lazy ppl .. worth it ...

Depends on what you're looking for.

Best filtration for buck? No.

Best flow over time for buck? Probably.
