Kingston cds are from CMC Magnetics , but they've always been fine for me...unlike the last couple Imation spindles I bought. Have some from a couple years ago that still work fine.

it's inconsistant, picture also shows its 74 minute when they're 80 minute.

They're red labelled 80 minute 24x that I picked up at the store. (they also had blue colored spindles that were 74 minute.)

Don't forget the $25 off $100 coupon (on homepage for first time customers). Too bad they only let you buy 5 spindles. I needed some other things and it came to $100 even - $25 + free shipping + $5 tax = good deal.

Thanks.

I don't have any experience with K HyperMedia/Kingston, but I've used numerous spindles of Imation without a problem. When I first read your comment I thought you were saying CMC = good but Imation = bad. I'm guessing you realize Imation cds are CMC, and you were saying even though they're both CMC, you've had good luck with K HyperMedia and not so good luck with Imation? In any case, here's the CDR Identifier from an Imation 24X 700MB/80 min disc:

ATIP: 97m 26s 66f
Disc Manufacturer: CMC Magnetics Corp.
Reflective layer: Dye (Short strategy; e.g. Phthalocyanine)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849)

Picked up a spindle in Emeryville, CA. Burned three, no coasters so far... seems better than the last Imation spindle I have.

Thanks for the deal.

OfficeMax SKU's are 8 digits. Don't call up and give them the SKU however, the computer inventory tracking is NEVER accurate. I used to work there... the computer only tallies the inventory at the end of each business day. Say the computer shows 5 of these CD-r spindles when you call, you're thinking "Cool, they have 5". However, if they already sold the 5 that same day, the computer will not show "sold out" until the end of the business day.

Just call up and ask if they still have "The KyperMedia CD-R bundles that are in the ad for $9.99". I guarantee they will know which ones you mean, and they will go check it physically (assuming they don't know off-hand, which I usually did).

Don't forget that OM takes competitor's coupons. There's a printable 10 off 40 Staples and a 15 off 50 OD coupon to be found at the oversised billfold place. Some OMs won't take "internet" coupons, although the policy is supposed to be they won't take .com coupons at B&M stores, but the one I went to accepted the printout of the Staples coupon since it said "on your next In-Store purchase" If the B&M rejects you, the OM 800 number will usually accept the coupons, and you can do an instore pickup.

200 32x CDRs + Snickers Bar + tax = $32 and change. Not too bad.

Just to clarify the picture showing "32x" and the description saying "16x", I received two spindles today, 32x exactly as pictured, not as described. YMMV
