Ok. I did a search if it is posted already, forgive me. :D

Office Max B&M has 10 pack DVD+R media 4X 4.7GB. for 4.99 after an instant discount of 5.00 at cashier.
I thought this was cool.. they work well with my NEC 2500A burner.

Credit to AnandTech member Harvey for posting the Office Max ad. They are also listed there.

This is only my second post. Be Kind...

Cheers :)

That's a pretty good deal for DVD+R media. They only burn at 2.4x, but the KHypermedia work well in my Lite-on burner. I'll swing by my local B&M and pick some up.

Good deal. Interesingly, I was over there the other day looking for media, but they didn't have what I was looking for, so I ended up buying a DVD burner instead. :)

I then dropped $20 at BB last night for their 25-pack spindle of TDK 4x DVD+Rs. These K-H DVD+R are actually cheaper.. I could have gotten 40 discs instead for $20. Hmm. :|

My drive is an NEC ND1300A with 1.05 firmware. The 4x TDK +Rs were seen as an unknown mfg with 2.4x write speed. I'm going to attempt to flash it to the newest Herrie modded firmware, after I do some more testing to verify that it's working 100% before I flash it. (Or maybe I'll just flash the official 1.0B firmware, I don't know. I think it's actually newer than the current Herrie modded one.)

DVD media burn speeds seem to be a hit-or-miss thing. The "conventional wisdom" was that +R was supposed to be able to be burned better at higher speeds than -R, but I'm seeing many 4x-rated +R media, that doesn't even burn at the rated speeds, and yet people reporting of buying -R 1x, 2x, and 4x, and burning it at double the rated speed in many cases. What's up with that? I still have much more to learn about DVD burning, I guess.

Edit: Went to OM to check - sold out of both K-H DVD+R and DVD-R. Oh well.

Anyone know the mfg? I'm guessing it's probably CMC, since K-H re-brands CMC CD-R media as well.

I went by my local OM tonight, and the pack of DVD+R rang up as $9.99 at the register. I went ahead and got them, thinking it was a YMMV dea. But once I got home, I checked the website, and they show a $5.00 instant rebate.
