Any good? Fry's has 512 PC3200 for $59.99 after rebate and if i am not mistaken that is a good deal. However, I am not familar with K-byte.

Hi, welcome to AT!

The Kbyte ram is definitely cheap, but it may or may not run at 3200. If it does, the timings may be bad or the ram may be unstable.

If you're buying some, see if there are any with good chips: infineon, nanya, samsung, micron etc.

It's definately generic, and you may have to run it with conservative settings in order for it to be stable. I wouldn't recommend it if you plan on doing any overclocking.

Sounds like I better hold off then. Thanks for the welcome, but i have been around for awhile. I haven't posted much latel, jsut been reading and I couldn't get my login info to work. Perhaps there will be a deal on some higher qaulity stuff coming up.

If you're looking for inexpensive memory, often times OM has kingston valueram DDR333 for pretty cheap. I got 2 512 mb sticks for like 35 bucks each.

K-Byte is generic stuff. Will probably barely reach advertised speed, and will get CL2.5-3 timings.

To this day, I have yet for any memory that I got from Fry's to work. I only get the cheap stuff, as their other memory is more exspensive than locally. I have now officially given up on them to buy memory altogether.

i got some 256mb pc2700 from BB for $19.99 after rebate and it runs 333 @ cl2-3-3 fine. confirmed by prime95 under a 24 hour battery. it has spectek chips and is running in an shuttle nforce2 board. im running 2 of them in dual channel.
