I just replaced my Pioneer Dehp-6200 with a JVC KD-SH99 (in order to play mp3s).. The Pioneer had a feature that let me adjust the cutoff frequency of the subwoofers so that they wouldn't receive the higher frequencies. It also had a feature that let me adjust the cutoff for the front and rear speakers so that they wouldn't receive any of the bass (and let my woofers handle all of it)... That way, I could turn my speakers way up without having them distort.

I have the Premium factory sound system for my 97' Ford Tbird and I'm still using the factory speakers along with two 12" woofers and a 600W amp that I added.

The JVC can adjust the subwoofer cutoff but it doesn't seem to have a speaker cutoff.

Is there any way of cutting off the bass to the factory speakers without having to install bass blockers or any other equipment?
