JVC harx headphones

I am looking into getting a set of over the ear headphones and have reached a problem. I dont know what ones to get. I am not a audiophile by any means but I dont want some really crappy headphones. Here is the price break down on what I can get the cans for

harx 300 $12.99
Harx 500 $17.99
Harx 700 $49.99
Harx 900 $52.99

The only reason I am buying headphones is that I want to play call of duty on my pc at night and dont want to wake anyone up when I am playing. I have to play with the volume so low that it really sucks playing the game online.

The problem is the harx 700's are $33.99 online at a bunch of places but no one has them in stock. I checked about 10 different websites and no one has them for that price. For $49.99 plus $5.95 priority shipping I can (buy it now) on ebay.

For my useage which is mainly gonna be playing call of duty MW3 what choice do you think I should make? I am ready to order these today because I am downloading MW3 on steam right now and if I order them today I will have them by thursday.

These are gonna get plugged into my pc motherboard, I have no sound card I dont know if this makes a big difference or not when picking out cans as I dont plan on buying a sound card honestly the onboard sound is good enough for me

Come on guys 71 views and no replies? I am trying to buy a set today.
I will ask this then since I am a headphone noob.
When it comes to headphones you have a Ohm and Sensitivity spec
How do these two go hand in hand?

The 300's are 32ohm 100db sensitivity
the 500's are 70ohm 105db
the 700's are 48ohm 105 sensitivity
the 900s are 64ohm and 106 sensitivity

These numbers are all over the place. I donot have a sound card or any kind of amp and these will be played off the motherboard sound only. Which one do you think is the best buy?

Sensitivity and impedance aren't related, but used together they can tell you how loud you can get using a certain amplification.

For a given amp, if the impedance is too high, your output will be limited by the amp's maximum voltage swing. if the impedance is too low, voltage swing will be more than enough but then the maximum current output would be the limit. But, if the sensitivity is really high, you'd get ear-splitting levels before either limit is reached.

Usually it doesn't matter too much if you don't listen too loud.

if its mainly for music bass heavy can be great for certain music. Hell bass heavy could be good for games too. I remember using a pair of turtle beaches with the bass turbed up playing mw2 with sit rep pro and could hear someone stomping around no problem

Have you modded your's at all?

I replaced mine with a paid of HD448
The HA-RX700 never were comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time. Plus they really seemed bass heavy :\
Nope.

I'm with you on the discomfort but I don't wear them too long. They're what I use at work. At home I use my DIY ZMV5.
