I've always kind of been on the look out for a decent HD digital camcorder for those random times when I want to record video. The thing is, I don't do it very often, so chances are I don't want to spend the usual price that you find a decent one for ($500-1000).

This morning, I saw in NewEgg's e-mail that they have a recertified JVC Everio GZ-HM320 for $139.99. Now, it seems like a decent deal, but I was fairly skeptical of the camcorder at first. I found some Youtube videos that were supposedly shot with the GZ-HM320 and they actually looked pretty decent... especially for the low price tag.

Here's a video someone took in Time's Square: link (Note, the video is kind of loud)
Here's an outdoor viewing: link

I couldn't find a great video of indoors, which I believe I read that this camcorder is not that great at? I noticed there was a bit of artifacting under movement, but for the most part, the camera looked pretty decent for $140. I did read that it records the files in a MOD extension, which I'll have to re-encode the files to work with them in Sony Vegas :\.

Any thoughts?
