A source close to Bieber confirms to CNN that the singer was 14 at the time of the incident and made the recording after he saw a comedian parodying his "One Less Lonely Girl" song online.

Is this where we are all supposed to pretend that none of us have ever made jokes or comments that would be very embarrassing were they recorded and publicized? Particularly when we were a teenager?

I hate the Beeb as much as the next guy....but this is getting a little silly at this point.

Exactly, he was 14. Kids that age regularly do and say stupid things. At least he's owning up to it and admitting it was wrong of him.

Oh no, he told racist jokes 6 years ago at the "clearly old enough to be beyond doing stupid shit" age of 14. This completely changes my opinion of a spoiled pop celebrity who spits on fans, vandalizes property and drives drunk.

What is really bad about this, is the fact he hangs out with black rappers and tries so hard to act black now, so these racist revelations makes him the worst type of hypocrite imaginable. Anything to make a fast buck from stupid fans when your career is headed to the shitter, I guess.

The kid was 14. Let's see what type of man he is now and if he still believes that stuff is ok.

What disturbs me more is that he grew up in an environment that he learned that. I would wonder about his parents.

Seems to me like he was just a 14 year old imitating a comic. Given that he is from Canada he probably isn't raised to be so uptight about racial humor.

Its kinda the difference about making a joke about Jews in the US verse in Germany.

I don't know. I feel like normal teens just don't have vitriol about racial groups unless thy pick it up somewhere. Remember he and the person recording thought it was a hoot.
