Man Shot On U.S. 412 Identity Unknown

Update: They just published the story on Erin, Turns out the cop shot the kid when he was lying on his back, he just didnt have his hands out.
'Beautiful Young Man' Killed In Case Of Mistaken Identity

Turns out the guy the police shot and killed is a Mentally ill kid that comes into my wifes work all the time. He was a little odd but pretty harmless and probally did not understand what the police were trying to tell him.

So instead of using non lethal force the State Trooper pulls out a shotgun and shoots the kid.

Pretty angry about this whole situation.

Yikes. Well the cops did have to assume he was the inmate who escaped, not that it justifies shooting the kid. The kid probably freaked out and started running at the cops, you don't have much of a choice then.

The news here is still saying the identity of the victim is unknown, the boy's mother was in the store this morning pretty upset telling my wife what happened. Guess the newspaper is going to be writing a big story on him just got done telling them what I knew about the kid.

Another story said the kid was just standing there walking in circles with his hands on his hips. Which is typical of this kid when he gets upset.

Apparently the police have the right to at least try to kill you. Look at the airforce guy shot by the cop. It took a video and weeks to have him charged with "attempted voluntary manslaughter"... not even attempted murder.

I think cops in the USA should be like the "bobbies" in England.. give them a club and if they need an armed response call in the military.

Should they change the constitution and take away your right to bare arm too? Seems like some people on this forum have more guns than the SWAT team.

Take your liberal attitude to the P&N forums and gripe there. We can have guns if we want. :p

There are about 1 million officers in this country, you are judging all of them and suggesting policy based on two.

well trooopers have cameras. There will be an inestigation to see if the shooting was justified. If not then justice will be served.

If by 'justice being served' you mean a slap on the wrist for cop that killed the kid, then yes it will.

Meh that reminds me of one of the trick questions my high school civics teacher gave us. The right to bear arms.

because someone is running at you that means you have to shoot'em?

gimme a break. I've had people run at me before and I didn't shoot'em down.

they have other means of non-lethal defense. 1) pepper spray, 2) billy club, 3) taser 4) dogs

I fvckin hate cops! Period. I see this crap too much.

sigh how sad.

this cop should be fired and charged. but we all know the odds on that happening are very slim. with no video to show people this cop is going to get away with murder.

considering the cops shot the fugitive at walmart I'm not surprised they shot this poor guy. they were just itching to pull the damn trigger.
