Justified negative feedback?

i purchased a used motherboard on ebay a while ago. i received a tracking number from them, but it only said "billing information received". the board was never shipped out. i called the seller, and they said there was something wrong with UPS so he agreed to ship another one out. i received another tracking number for the new shipment, but it never arrived. i called 2 weeks later and he said that they were out of stock. i demanded a refund and they gave me a reibursement. i left the seller a negative feedback, because they sold something that they never had stock. if i hadn't called them, i don't think i would have even receive a refund.

since i left him a negative feedback, he left me with this negative feedback in return:

FULL REFUND ISSUED**UNREASONABLE BUYER**SELLER BEWARE, AVOID & BLOCK FROM SALES!

this was my first negative feedback, and i don't want this stupid problem to wreck my reputation.

meh, I would have done negative and said, "recieved refund but item was sold out of stock and I was not notified"

You're like screaming in your feedback, seems a little over the top

The feedback you left was a jusfied negative. Sounds like he did it just to spite you. As long as you paid within a reasonable amount of time, and if you didn't do anything stupid, he should have had no reason to leave you a negative.

Did tracking #2 end up leaving their dock, or was it the same "Billing information received" only?

Either way, eBay sucks at removing negative feedback. Use the "reply to feedback" option to justify it, and try contacting Squaretrade with the two bogus tracking numbers.

I would have left a negative as well. Ive gotten a few negatives in spite of on my ebay id over the years. Most of them arent even registered users anymore.

#2 was also stuck on billing info received. i found out that the seller can create their own tracking numbers.

ebay offered me a negative withdrawal feedback. i guess i might do that instead.

It takes a lot for me to leave a neg feedback, but when I do its justified. The risk you always assume is retaliatory neg feedback (like the one you got). To me its worth it to take a neg FB and reply to it to get the word out about the other guy.

The negative to you wasn't justified.
Since you got a refund, leaving them a negative wasn't justified.

It was justified (his leaving a negative that is) If the seller has shady business practices, I'd like to know about it before I bid on something that they're selling.

Negatives are reserved for you when you get ripped off. Because you got a refund, even though you had to wait and ask for it, you should have left a neutral with a stern warning about the seller. However, the negative the seller left you was retaliatory and completely unjustified. You should complain about it to Ebay, but good luck with that.
