Yep.

In an abormal location for computing and it fell onto my knee (Seriously, out of all the places, onto my knee, anywhere else and it would have been fine).

Either way, it's completely boned.

I'm pissed off, nothing I can do about it but buy another. Now, what should I get? I'm using an x1900XTX if that matters..

Grr... soo stupid. For now I have my 2001FP to hold me off until I decide on something or the prices lower. I haven't been watching lately on prices and new releases, any ideas?

Falling on his knee is not a manufacturing defect. ;) It would be covered by Dell's accidental damage plan I assume, but apparently the OP didn't have that. :(

lol, yea

Your monitor falling on your knee isn't covered, and no, we didn't have warranty anyway. (I never do, first time somethings broke in forever, and I've saved more than the price of the monitor by not paying them).

Evil genius plan: it was bought at costco, and costco does returns sooo easy. Order a new one, repackage old one, return for refund. Voila!

You can't tell its broken unless you plug it in. Otherwise it looks brand new.

Ya that's not such a great idea. May as well just make sure it's somebody else that has to pay for your mistake, right?

If you were actually joking, I'll say that it's not that we take jokes well, it's that we expect people to be doing this kind of stuff ;)

lessee... maybe they record serial#'s that go out so crooks can't pull a low-life scheme like that?
