Just wondering if this type of feature is possible here....

Something whereby the number of times a post is "read" can be kept track of

i.e. next to each post there is listed a number of times it has been read (number of times someone has loaded the page)

I just always thought this kinda thing was kinda cool...really gives you an idea of how many people found your post interesting.

Anywho, i'm assuming it's not even possible with fusetalk, but just curious.... :)

It's been enabled before, but seems to cause problems (latency) from what I recall.

yeah I thought that was kinda cool too. I've seen it on other boards that are less robust than fusetalk so I assume it is possible, dunno if it is feasible tho.

The Fusetalk software does have this feature.

The problem is that the number of people on the AT forums is so big that enabling this feature brings the forums to its knees. Non-subscribers are already slowed by the cap.....it would just make it worse with the post views on.

Other forums are nowhere near the size of the AT forums.

I always thought that the number of times a post was read was a pretty useless feature. After all just because I click on a thread doesn't mean I'll automatically find it useful/informative - if I do, I'll usually post to say so.
