OK...I am finally jumping into the console scene and decided to find a used one on eBay.

I got the following for 455

Xbox 360 Premium (Benq DVD Drive & Falcon chip) The build is October 2007
Bioshock, Mass Effect, Quake 4 and Knights of the old republic II
13 month subscription of live on (2-18-09)
Just over 3600 microsoft points

I don't at this time know what the points get you...

But other than that is it a fair deal or did I pay too much...

QUESTION
Can you use any HDMI cable or do you need the MS one?

well considering it was manufactured around Oct. of last year didn't MS just extend the warranty? and if it breaks at some point down the road...can you predict the future?

The warranty is extended regardless and he got a Falcon so it is probably much less likely to fail.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Those points are for purchases made over xbox live. You can buy live arcade games like geometry wars, metal slug, etc... buy TV shows to download to the hard drive, or buy content for games like new songs for rockband/guitar hero and stuff like that. 3600 points is about $45 worth.

If you need an HDMI cable, hit monoprice.com. Any cable should work fine.

Cool...thanks for the info regarding the HDMI.

I already have two HDMI cables wired into the TV (one for cable box & one for DVD player)

I can just swap out the cables when I am playing xBox then

no n00b, you need monster cables with platinum coating.

let me get down to my local high priced electronics store and pick one up quick fast and in a hurry!

I know this isnt quite related, but can someone please tell me how to find out when mine was manufactured? thanks.
And like everyone else said, i would say its a good deal as long as you didnt get screwed by whoever sold it to you.

Good luck with it i hope you have better luck than me with your x box, on my 3rd one in about 2 years time the good old 3 red ring of death.
